Nebraska Spring Snows

Spring Snow Goose Hunts from Feb 25th through Mar 15th

We hunt the "Rainwater Basins" in South Central Nebraska.  Millions of Snow geese will stage and migrate through the basins every spring.  The area is dotted with shallow wetlands that the geese will use nightly for roost and head to the countless grain fields to feed throughout the day.

We have locations scattered throughout the basin area, taking advantage of refuges, hot feeding areas, and traditional migration routes.  Though most of our hunting locations are setup to intercept the new migrating flocks before they reach the millions of staged geese in the core of the Rainwater Basins.  We will move into the core area when needed due to weather/migration conditions.

Hunts will be done out of comfortable Final Approach layout blinds and decoy spreads will consist of nearly 1000 Sillosock decoys and floating decoys.  To top off our setups, we use custom Electronic callers that produce ultra clear recordings of relaxed geese.

Even though there is no limit on Snow geese in Nebraska in the Spring, Snow geese are without a doubt the toughest of all waterfowl to decoy consistently, years with a bad hatch will test the nerve of any waterfowler.  Lets face it, on a bad hatch year, if you take 10-15 birds on a days hunt under normal weather conditions you had a good day.  But on the other hand, on years with a decent hatch under normal weather conditions 25-30 geese per day is a typical run of the mill day.  Of course the potential is there for any day to turn into one that you will remember forever.

Groups of 6 or more will guarentee that no other hunters will be mixed into your group.  With groups of 4 or less we will mix groups with a total of 7-8 per field, depending on how the groups play out.  Being the only group in the field has its advantages other than not hunting with guys you don't know.  We will be able to customize the hunt to better fit the way you want to hunt, within our resources.

Hunts last from a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset.  The exceptions to this rule would be if we need to move a spread for the following days hunt in which we will end at 4:00.

Price is *$150 per hunter per day and *$100 for kids 15 and under.

Group rates:  For at least 6 hunters for at least 4 days is *$125 per hunter per day (kids 15 and under in a group booking are *$75 per day).
