Water Swatter

In my situation, I am expected to produce day after day at the same location, from the beginning of the season to the end, reguardless of weather conditions.  The goose call around my neck is the only thing I can rely on day in/day out.  I needed a call that I could get fast with to turn a flock and a more mellow/softer tone so I didn't "blow the birds out" under calm conditions, but still allow me to get loud with a distant flock or migrators.  Not only that, but I needed a call that would keep a realistic tone with 1 handed operation, while the other hand flags or reloads my gun, while I try to call the flock back.  Without finding the call to fit all needs...the "Water Swatter" was born.

The "Water Swatter" is a short reed goose call with enough back pressure built in that you can get by with 1 handed use and still get super realistic sounds...great for the caller making the transition from a flute to short reed; seasoned short reed callers can really make them sing.  Tuned light and responsive, they are incredibly easy to get fast excited clucks without turning blue in the face.  As a added bonus, the caller can apply a lot of back pressure and get a fair sounding Speck for when that loner shows up.

I sand and shave the guts in each call before they go out the door.
